6/13/09 Foster Parent Recognition picnic hosted by the Division of Family Services. Foster families from 5 counties gathered for this event.  Simpson Park
6/22/09 Green Hills Trail Riding Assn. bike ride, scavenger hunt and picnic with the YMCA Ypals program YMCA
6/26/09 Summer School Middle School Students will get to Adopt a TOM Team, learn about the cyclists and study the countries where the teams originate.  Conclude with an assembly to learn about the Tour. Chillicothe Middle School

7/3/09 Midwest Quality Glove and Gear night at the Mudcats Game – Two bikes given away.  Shafer Park
7/4/09 Win a Bike Chillicothe Freedom Festival 3 Bikes given away Simpson Park 6pm-10pm
7/4/09 Chillicothe Idol Contest- Kids were encouraged to send in demo tapes of themselves singing

the National Anthem.  The winner sang at the Freedom Festival and will sing the national     anthem before the start of Stage 6.  One bike and helmet given away.

7/4 - 7/11 The local Farm Bureau sponsored a booth with bike-related give-a-ways.  These included helmets, two bikes, t-shirts, reflectors, etc.  Livingston County Fair
7/10/09 Hedrick Medical Center night at the Mudcat game.  Two bikes and helmets given away. Shafer Park
7/31/09 Hy-Vee night at the Mudcat game.  Two bikes and helmets given away.  Shafer Park
8/3/09 “Just Peachy” recipe contest at Hy-Vee – Kids submitted samples of their favorite peach      recipe.  The two winners each received a new bike and had their recipe published in the paper.  Hy-Vee
8/9 - 9/09

Monday Night Group Rides – held in August and September in celebration of the upcoming Tour.  Bikes were donated for new riders, and a trailer was donated to carry and store the bikes.  Every rider received a t-shirt.

Chillicothe Bike Rodeo, sponsored by the Livingston County Health Center, Rotary and the Optimist Club.  Healthy snacks and bike safety will be the main topics.  Give-a-ways will include a bike and helmets.

Rapture in Misery Bike Race Sponsored by the Green Hills Trail Association, the Chillicothe Middle Schools Mentoring Program and the YMCA.  A bike and helmets will be given away.

8/19/09 Summer ride-students  log the minutes you ride from the period of May 21st to Aug. 19th.  Prizes will include bikes, helmets and water bottles. Chillicothe School District

9/09/09 Paint the Town Contest – Area student organizations will paint business windows.  Cash

prize for the best painting.

10:15 a.m.  Youth Races (adolescents), Adult Tricycle Races, Bag Pipes, Bongo Berry, Cowboy, KC Wolf – Nine bikes and 25 helmets to be given away.  Chillicothe Square
10:30 a.m.  Celebrity Trike Races—featuring regional celebrities! Chillicothe Square
10:45 a.m.  Famous “Home of Sliced Bread” Baking Contest Chillicothe Square
11:00 a.m. Bongo Berry Chillicothe Square
11:15 a.m. Bike give-a-way Chillicothe Square
11:30 a.m. The excitement intensifies as the teams begin to arrive! Chillicothe Square
11:50 a.m. Riders begin to sign-in and circulate in Autograph Alley Chillicothe Square
1:00 p.m. Stage 6 officially begins! Don’t miss it! Chillicothe Square
1:15 p.m. Ride the Route—parents and kids are invited to ride the same route as the riders and follow the motorcade out of town! A once-in-a-lifetime experience! Chillicothe Square

Watch the action continue to St. Joe on the Big Screen and join us for the official Viewing Party at the Chillicothe Country Club! Included in the fun, a mouth-watering barbeque cook off contest featuring local chefs! Sample delicious ribs and chicken legs as we watch the race finish on the big screen TV!
